8 Weeks

Ryan and I are expecting our second child this December and we feel very blessed and excited about this new chapter in our lives.  We found out I was pregnant on Friday, March 29th and I was only about four weeks along at that time.  It happened very quickly for us this time and honestly took us by surprise a little bit.  It took a little while for the news to sink in but we are so excited and grateful for this child.  We're also excited that we can finally get everything out in the open :)

I took this picture and wrote this post back when I was 8 weeks along and I want to go ahead and share it for documentation.  A 12 week post will be coming soon!

So far I've had it fairly easy but things have been somewhat different this time around.  For starters, I have a small bump at 8 weeks!  I'm still wearing my normal clothes but shirts definitely feel more snug in the middle.  I've also gained a few more pounds than I care to mention but I'm trying to remember it's all part of this wonderful process.   I feel like I'm constantly hungry and find myself feeling sick if I haven't eaten every few hours.  I also find myself very tired in the afternoons.  This time I can't come home and relax on the couch since I have a toddler to chase after so that may be contributing to the fatigue   I'm trying to get to bed early but that's not always easy to do.

We had our first ultrasound at 7 weeks and heard the heartbeat.  It's such an amazing sound and I'm looking forward to seeing that baby continue to grow.  All in all, I've been feeling pretty well and hoping for a healthy pregnancy again.  Looking forward to the weeks to come!

A Day in the Life

Last week I documented pictures throughout our day so I could share what it's like in our household on a normal weekday.  I wish that I would have done this before now but I'll try to do a similar post every few months so I can look back on what every day life looks like for us.

It was a Tuesday morning and my alarm went off at 5:15 am.  I hopped in the shower and then grabbed a waffle and some OJ for a quick breakfast.  I finished getting ready and then woke Henry up around 6:20.  Some days he is up by now on his own but not this morning.  This morning he really struggled to wake up.  I love how he sleeps with his legs crossed underneath him and I love that I was able to get this cute pic of him.

Every morning when he wakes up I change his diaper and then get him dressed.  Then we go downstairs for a few snuggles and some milk.  Leo normally makes it down the stairs with us :)

Snuggles usually last only a few minutes and then he's ready to be on his own.  I'll take what I can get for now :)

It was around 6:30 at this point and we woke Ryan up.  I finished getting dressed and snapped a quick pic before heading out the door.  Gotta love my photo bomber!

I got a quick hug and a wave and then I was out the door by 6:45.  Ryan takes him to daycare in the morning and usually drops him off around 7:30.

Thankfully I live close to work and I'm usually at my desk a little after 7.  I spent my morning catching up on emails and was ready for my usual snack of goldfish and a Diet Dr Pepper by 8:30.

I had a few meetings that morning and then Ryan and I hit up Freebirds for lunch.  We work in the same office and it's so nice to be able to grab lunch together every now and then.

The afternoon went quickly and I was out the door at 5 ready to pick up my little boy.  I love walking in his class and seeing his big smile when he sees me.  Today he had made a "sun collage" and was showing it off.  I managed to snap a few pics before he destroyed it :/

We got home around 5:30 and he had some apple juice and raisins.  Lately he has been into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he watched this for about 15 minutes before Ryan got home.

We then all went for a walk which we try to do almost every evening.  We've got to get Bennett out of the house for some exercise and Henry seems to enjoy this time as well.

After our walk I fixed Henry dinner.  We were about to leave to go out of town so we didn't have much on hand.  Mac n cheese, chicken fingers and bananas it was!  I can't say I always win Mom of the year when it comes to nutrition.  I usually try to have a more balanced meal during the week but that doesn't always happen.

After dinner we went upstairs to play for a bit and then took a bath.  Henry LOVES the squirt toys and has figured out how to spray Benny, me and all the walls.

After the bath Henry usually sits with Ryan and snuggles with Leo while enjoying some milk.  Sometimes we'll read books but tonight Henry just watched baseball for a bit.  Ryan put him in his crib around 7:30 and he was fast asleep.  We're thankful he goes down so easy at night!

Ryan and I had dinner at this point and finally sat down a little after 8 to watch some TV.  I'm pretty sure I climbed into bed around 9:30 that night and Ryan wasn't far to follow.  Life is good right now but it is definitely exhausting!  Wouldn't change it for anything though :)

Eighteen Months

Henry Ryan... you are eighteen months old!  A year and a half...  A full blown toddler...  Only six more months until you are two..  Where has the time gone?!?

My last update was at fifteen months and so much has changed since then.    You are looking and acting more and more like a big boy than my little baby.  While this makes me sad and miss that stage I am even more excited about this age and what's to come.

You have the best grin and love to smile when I pull out the camera.  You get this goofy look on your face that just cracks me up.  You also have the best laugh that comes out at the oddest moments.  We're not so sure what you think is funny but you definitely have us rolling when you get the giggles.

Being outside is your absolute favorite thing to do.  You love to play with your lawnmower, drive your truck, pick up rocks and play in the dirt.  All boy for sure.  You always want to go outside when Bennett does and do not understand why you can't always go with him.  We are definitely starting the phase where you throw tantrums and lay on the floor when you don't get your way.  I'm hoping this phase passes quickly but I'm not so sure...

You are such an observant boy and love to mimic whatever we are doing.  Especially your dad.  You can be a momma's boy every now and then but you sure love your dad.  You're always watching what he is doing and then want to do the same thing.

You are also very focused when you set your mind to something.  You get very serious and try hard.  This usually only lasts a few minutes though and you're on to the next thing.  Which is usually playing/hugging on Benny, watching cartoons, climbing on chairs, or most of the time - getting in trouble.

We're still working on your vocabulary but you do say a few things now - hot, uh oh and what's this?  You jabber quite a bit so you're trying to say real words but we just don't understand them.  You also only have four teeth but we see a few on top that are about to poke through.  You are finally not drooling as much as you used to be but we're so ready to see more teeth.  Hopefully soon!

You love to eat and lately you're obsessed with cookies.  Always signing "more" when you see them.  We're going through a phase where one day you'll eat one thing and the next day you won't touch it so that can be a little challenging but we're working through it.  A few of your favorites though are still cheese, waffles, goldfish, bananas and any type of pasta.  You weigh 25 pounds and are very heavy to carry around!  You're wearing size 18 mths or 18-24 month clothes and wear size 5.5 shoes.  Last time we went to the doctor you were in the 30th percentile for weight but I feel like you're a pretty big boy for your age!

You're a great sleeper and usually go down between 7:30-8 pm and then wake up between 6:30-7 am.  Definitely manageable!  You are taking one nap and usually go down a little after noon and wake up about two hours later.  If you get off on your sleep you're definitely cranky though!

Have I mentioned that you're all boy?!?  If you're outside and dirty or wet you're most likely happy.  You're dad is a neat freak so he struggles with this a little but I can't help but laugh.

Henry, you are such a happy boy and you bring so much joy to our lives.  Yes, we have our times where we struggle with you when you're tired or cranky but generally you are in such a good mood and always laughing and smiling.  Love you so much kiddo :)

Weekend in Pics

We had a wonderful weekend and it started off with Ms. Alexandra Rose being born Thursday morning!  We were so excited she made her big debut and I was able to see her Thursday evening and then again on Friday.  She's such a cutie and I'm so excited to spoil her!

My grandmother came in town from Tulsa for a few days and we were able to spend some time with her.  My parents watched Henry Friday night so we could go on a date night and my mom sent us this picture while we were out.  Love!

Saturday morning this cutie woke up with one arm out of his sleeve.  I think we were both a little confused how it got this way :)

We went to lunch at one of our favorite spots in town and one of the best things is their cookies...  This boy couldn't get enough!

I tried to get a picture with him but he had a hard time smiling since his mouth was so full :)

On Sunday morning we were getting ready for church and I look over and this boy is sitting on top of Bennett brushing his hair.... This kiddo loves his Benny!

And lastly, a pic of Henry and I on Mother's Day.  So thankful to have this boy in our lives!  Love :)

Baby A's Nursery Reveal

My dear friend Nicole is expecting her sweet baby girl any day now and I am anxiously awaiting the text that says "it's time!"  Nicole is going to be such a great mom and I can't wait for her to experience motherhood.  This baby girl has the most beautiful room awaiting her arrival and I wanted to share a few pictures I took when I was over there last weekend.  Her parents have put so much time and thought into her room and I love all the personal touches.  Here's a little preview of the room below....

Now the only thing that would make this post even better is a picture of her momma rocking her sweet baby girl. Can't wait to get that shot... Sometime this week would be perfect :)
