Weekend in Pictures

Henry and I hung out Friday night while Ryan played in a golf tournament.  We spent quite a bit of time trying to sit up.  He does really well on his own but will still lose his balance every now and then.

On Saturday we attended a friend's baby shower.  Henry sported his coolest shades and shoes for the celebration.

Henry put on his swimming gear and went into the pool for the first time today.  He seemed to love the water and kicked his feet around.

We spent this evening lounging around and Henry loved wearing his daddy's hat.  Such a little cutie :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

Henry's Nursery

I know I'm a little late in posting pictures of Henry's room since he is already 6 months old, but in all fairness, we didn't move into this house until he was 6 weeks old.  At that point, we only had the crib, dresser and rocking chair so I've been working on it ever since.  It's still a work in progress as there are several things I still want to add.  However, I want to document what it looks like at this point.

I knew I wanted something soft, simple, vintage and blue.  My inspiration was bedding from Restoration Hardware Kids and we went from there.  I'm hoping that I can work with most of the accent pieces and furniture as he gets older.

I love the cork board over the changing table and right now it holds his Valentines card, Baptism invitation, and a Happy Gram from daycare.  I imagine that one day this will have A&M football tickets and school papers.

I also love the Vintage Hot Air Balloon pictures above his crib.  I'm not sure he'll always be a fan of these but they sure look cute now :)

A view of his bookshelf that is full of toys, pictures, and books.

And lastly, a picture of my sweet little boy in his crib.  Can he possibly be a cuter baby??

Six Months...

Henry Ryan... you are six months old!

This has been the best month yet as you are always smiling and laughing!  Your daddy gets the best grins out of you and knows how to make you giggle.  You are definitely growing and you weigh 18 pounds!  It's hard to believe you were only a little over 6 pounds when you were born.  You've packed on some lbs in the last six months and I love it.  You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and wearing size 3 diapers.

You are so close to sitting up by yourself and I know you'll be doing it soon.  You love to have something in your hands and usually it will end up in your mouth.  You also love Benny and he's never far from your side.

We have started giving you fruits and veggies and so far you haven't tried something you don't like.  We've tried sweet potatoes, bananas, apple sauce, carrots, squash and peas and you've done well with all of them.  We are still giving you 6 bottles a day but you have at least one serving of food a day.

You continue to love the outdoors and we've recently tried you in the swing at the park.  I definitely think we'll be getting one for our backyard soon.

You really enjoy being on your tummy now and can push up very high.  You're not crawling but you can wiggle around some.  You are still not rolling over consistently but every now and then you surprise yourself with a roll from your tummy to back.

Your toes are your new best friend and if you are on your back you are holding them.  You've also managed to put them in your mouth.  Your dad and I wonder how you are so flexible!

You are still sleeping well but we went through a week and a half where you would wake up in the middle of the night.  We usually had to come rock you or give you a pacifier to sooth you back to sleep.

Your arms and legs are constantly moving!  These monthly pictures are already getting hard as I can barely get you to sit still.  Love all the squeals and smiles you give me though when we are taking them.

Happy six months Henry!

Mother's Day 2012

I love this boy so much and his big smile melts my heart.  I had a fabulous first Mother's Day and I'm so blessed to have such an amazing family!

Fun with Friends

A few weekends ago, our good friends from Tulsa came down for a visit.  We hadn't seen Anna & Reid in awhile and they wanted to meet sweet little Henry.

We picked them up from the airport on Friday and stopped in town for lunch.  Ryan and I miss so many restaurants in town so this was a perfect opportunity to hit up one of our favorite spots.  We lunched at Tiny Boxwoods and as expected, it did not disappoint.  Mr. Henry was also a happy little boy. :)

We did a little shopping that afternoon and then headed back home.  My parents had so kindly offered to keep Henry that night so we could have fun out with them and not have to worry about waking up so early on Saturday.  We dropped H man off at my parents and enjoyed a glass of wine with them before heading out.  We ended up dining outside and spending some time at a rooftop wine bar.  It was pretty windy but we had a good time!

We were able to sleep in that next morning and then we went and picked up donuts before getting Henry.  We spent that afternoon doing some shopping and had a fabulous lunch outside.  Afterwards we headed over to my parents to lay by the pool for a bit.  While we were there, my mom was getting ready for a dinner party and a chef was actually at the house who would be catering.  He let us know that he had some extra food so we quickly changed our dinner plans and decided to join them.  Probably the best decision we made all weekend!

We had such a GREAT night and enjoyed the food, wine and company.  Henry was a great sport and went to sleep while we had dinner so it worked out perfectly.  We also had our own "kiddie" table so it felt like our own private dinner.  We also stayed up way too late that night and had a little dance party ;).  Needless to say, next morning was a little rough when Henry was up at 6 am...

The next day we lounged around, went for a walk and had lunch at Mi Cocina.  We came back to my parents for some pool time and some naps.  Anna & Reid didn't fly out until Sunday evening so it was nice to have all day to relax.  We also made another stop in town at an Italian restaurant before we took them to the airport.

All in all, it was a fabulous weekend and we're so thankful to have such good friends.  It's hard that we are so far apart but it definitely makes the times that we are together that much better!
