Last month we traveled to Playa del Carmen for one of my best friends wedding and we had the BEST time! We've been look forward to celebrating this marriage for a long time and it was definitely worth the wait.
Ryan and I decided to stay at a resort and we used this time away to celebrate our 5 year anniversary as well. Henry stayed at Ryan's parents house and his mom sent daily updates and pictures which made it a little easier to be away from him.
When we arrived at the resort on Wednesday we were greeted with yummy cocktails and a cute welcome bag from Kim and Erich.
We spent that afternoon relaxing by the beach and sipping on pina coladas and other fruity beverages. We didn't meet up with the rest of the group that night as we wanted to enjoy our first dinner there at the resort. We also went to bed early and slept longer that night than we had in a long time. We joked how all we wanted to do was sleep on this trip. Life sure changes when you become a parent :)
The next morning we met up with the group and hopped on buses that took us to the marina. Kim's parents had organized for a catamaran to take us out for the day and I can honestly say this was one of the highlights of the trip. It was so much fun hanging out on the boat for a few hours and then swimming in the blue ocean. It rained a little while we were out there but it didn't stop anyone from having fun!
We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and then got ready for the rehearsal dinner. The dinner was outside at one of the villas the wedding party was staying at and the setup was perfect! The dinner was catered by one of Erich's favorite local restaurant for tacos and they served yummy margaritas. Here's a group shot of all the guys and then the girls. They had quite a crew come celebrate with them!
The day of the wedding Ryan and I walked around the town that morning and then spent time by the pool reading and enjoying a few coronas. The wedding was later that evening on the beach outside their villa and the ceremony was beautiful! It was so much fun to witness their vows and they looked stunning.
They had quite the party after the ceremony and we had a blast. It was a perfect evening to be outside and we danced for hours.
I wish I would have taken more pics but here's one of the high school gang :)

And one more of the happy couple. We're so happy for you guys and wish you the best!
It was such a fun trip and we were thankful to have the time with friends and the time to ourselves. We were definitely ready to see Henry when we got back though!
